In this case, Coelho's fable revolves around the question of whether people will commit evil in order to gain wealth and power. After burying some gold in the forest, a visitor arrives in a small village in the Pyrenees and initiates a power struggle among the villagers by offering to give them the gold if they kill one of their own. Coelho best explains the personal crisis of the villagers through the young barmaid Chantal, who becomes the visitor's messenger and struggles with her choices and beliefs about good and evil in humankind. Coelho has been called a New Age writer for his use of allegories, moral messages, and uplifting life lessons. Although some readers might not agree with his preaching, the intriguing and fluid plot will keep them interested, just as it did in his six previous best-selling novels. Este es un libro fascinante, que trata sobre uno de los temas mas controversiales que existen... la naturaleza e incluso la existencia o, mejor dicho, la co-existencia del bien y del mal.
Narra la historia de un extranjero que llega a un pequeno pueblo en el que no pasa nada, y , en una semana, logra ponerlo de cabeza con una proposicion espantosa, mediante la cual pretende confirmar sus sospechas sobre la naturaleza del hombre.
La historia es estupenda, la narracion es sencilla, el mensaje reconfortante, los personajes son frescos, aunque no muy profundos, el desenlace... bueno... creo que es mejor que tu lo leas y decidas...

Esta novela es casi una película. Un hombre llega a un pequeño pueblo y ofrece diez lingotes de oro para provecho de todos los habitantes a cambio de que alguien sea asecinado durante la semana que esta allí. El trama de la novela es excelente. Lo único que no me gusto mucho es el dialecto entre los personajes. Pero se le gusta el estilo de Paolo le va a encantar esta novela. La novela se pone mejor y mejor. El final es un poco predecible pero no el suspenso está presente todo el tiempo. Leer esta novela no es una pérdida de tiempo.

en el demonio y la señorita prym, paulo coelho presenta la batalla del bien y el mal en un pueblo muy especial, pero que por otra parte, bien podría ser el pueblo de cualquiera de nosotros. el libro es buenísimo, el estilo de la narración te obliga a continuar leyendo hasta el final. no me gusta el modo en que paulo coelho usa el miedo de la gente para demostrar su bondad, pero en general, hace buen uso de los elementos y sobrepasa las expectativas. es un libro que lleva a reflexionar, excelente para leer varias veces.

Don't get the Kindle edition

I got the Kindle version lured by the lower price. Although the content is excellent on the Kindle the numerous sidebars and illustrations make it hard to follow. Also, the black and white photos are not as illustrative as a print version. Kindle are great for general reading but not for technical manuals like this.and r

I love this book. I am not a high performance auto person but I wanted a good ignition system reference and I got it. The pictures are very well done and the explanations are very well thought out.

Thank you for sending this to me. It will stay on my shelf for a long time coming. I love it.

If you want better explanations of how ignition systems (and more) work, then spend the money. You won't be disappointed.

I've had the original version of this book for a very long time and have always considered it an excellent resource. This updated version adds all of the pertinent information that we hot rodders need to know about the latest technologies in ignition products as well as expanding on several topics that are beneficial to gaining an understanding on how to put such products to work. It contains a volume of information that any car guy can put to use immediately.

Todd's explanations are clear, concise, and easy to follow. I really like the overall layout of this book as it takes you from the fundamentals to the advanced in a very fluid manner. There are so many hints, tips, and tricks within this book that I was never compelled to skip to the next topic or chapter. Overall, this book is one of the easiest to read automotive books that I'm aware of.

If you desire to become the expert on ignition systems - be it points, CD, or DIS - this book is a must own.

I never thought of "forgiveness as a form of love" until I read it in the book.

Reading about forgiveness is one thing, but having a mentor walk you thru the steps is another. Iyanla is authentic...she doesn't sugar coat anything. She says for some the process can be like extracting a tooth without Novocain (which I can relate to as I sit with a tooth dangling, waiting for my oral surgery appointment) and for others like walking up a steep mountain with 100 pounds on your back.

I love her candidness - she was going to beat the crap out of someone and she isn't even prone to violence. Someone real is my hero, not to say that I put her on a pedestal. I just respect people who are frank. Venus Andrecht is another woman I love (she's a radio personality and intuitive counselor. I don't like some things about her, but I respect her and love her regardless of any flaws.) The same is true with Iyanla. If you've read Peace from Broken Pieces, this is the next book.

Disclaimer - I haven't gone through all 21 days, just the first and I perused the rest of the days. Iyanla recommends 30-60 minutes a day as you need to journal and process stuff and do the work. I just don't have kind of time commitment right now, but vacation is coming - Hallelujah. I love the concepts and will work the book when I have 21 days to devote to the whole process.

Also, I would advise getting the physical version of the book. Kindle is great for space saving, but I'd rather be writing in a physical book. On the other hand, keeping notes on the Kindle version is private.

Wonder process to forgiving everyone for everything..

Iyanla Vanzant is one of my favorite authors as well an inspirational speaker. This book goes into the core of how one must forgive, and the process and steps to forgive. She takes you on this day to day journey of how you can start the process to forgive. This book really breaks barriers that people of developing because of the past of people that they have failed, and chose not to forgive. Thank you Iyanla for teaching the process to forgiveness.

About the Author
Petar Meseldžija began his career in 1981, publishing the comic strip "Krampi" in the Stripoteka, one of the best known comic magazines in the country. This was followed by a series of short comics and his work on Tarzan.

In 1991 he moved to the Netherlands. Soon after, he dedicated himself to illustration and painting. During the 1990s he painted posters and greeting cards, illustrated a few books, had his first solo exhibition, and participated in many group exhibitions in various galleries and museums in Serbia, the Netherlands and the U.S. His work has been published in a variety of books and periodicals all over the world.

Petar has also collaborated on 2 books from the Diablo III series, published by Blizzard/Insight Editions, doing a number of drawings for this project. He worked for Scholastic Inc., US, creating 11 covers for their two children’s fantasy series, Children of the Lamp, by P.B. Kerr, and The Unicorn Chronicles, by Bruce Coville. Previous books include collections of his sketches and drawings; a book of his Tarzan comics, The Legend of Steel Bashaw as well as the art book The Art of Petar Meseldzija.

Among many awards which he received for his work are: “Plaque The International Golden pen of Belgrade, 1994”, Yugoslavia (Serbia); The “Art Show Judges Choice Award” – 59th World Science Fiction Convention, Philadelphia, 2001, US.; Two Silver Awards from “Spectrum 4 and Spectrum 10 – The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art”, U.S.; Gold Award “Spectrum 16 – The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art”, U.S.

Petar is currently working on a series of paintings for private collectors, as well as planning his new book projects. His original work is to be found in the museum and private collections in Serbia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France , U.S., Canada, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

Wonderful visual work.

Stunning artwork. The book is about 160 pages with I believe 16 colour paintings, and then on pretty much all other pages a beautiful illustration.
Some may be aware of this artist's work from the Legend of Steel Bashaw, which is beautiful, but I prefer this one because it is longer, tells a bigger story ( much more text as well) and the subject of the artwork is very much to my liking.

A google image search will throw up some samples if you're on the fence about buying. I bought this along with Tribes of Kai, also by Flesk, and will review that one later.

An amazing book of Giants!!!!

I bought the Petar Meseldzija's "The Book Of Giants" for the artwork and the subject matter. It reminds me of a similar book I checked out of my local public library many years ago, a book that's long out of print. This book does for giants what Brian Froud does for fairies, sprites, and elves. I got this book for a very reasonable price and it has inspired me to look for other books illustrated by the amazing Petar Meseldzija.
