A very under-rated book! Where are the readers?

I cannot believe that there is not at least three pages of reviews for this great book.Being able to link up with "Mr/Mrs High Credibility" is so essential to successand this is the only book that shows the why, who, where and how.Severall years ago I joined toastmasters and as a result was invited to join other organizations as well. I have to admit that I was [initially] very uncomfortable sitting with some of the top CEO's, Board Members and social elite of my city. This book was recommended to me then and I have never looked back.As a result, I have been able to increase my client base, penetrate the affluent market and network with their associates.As I said in the heading, I cannot believe that there are not more reviews here. Perhaps readers are hoping to keep this their secret. I know that when I first heard about this book, I was hoping that none of my competitors would find out about it.I also recommend Dr. Stanley's excellent "Selling To The Affluent" and "The Winners Circle" by Robert Shook.

Entrepreneurs, new salespeople read this book.

Starting a new business? New to sales? (Feel you are too young/old to jump start your production?
Dr. Stanley's books should be required reading for any business student or business owner. In Networking with the Affluent, Dr. Stanley discusses SEVERAL methods of establishing productive relationships with your target prospect group and their advisors.
Networking is NOT trading names or client lists with every salesperson you meet. These methods are not restricted to finding affluent clients.
If you are not good at phone sales, how about writing letters to the editor of your local paper supporting a local industry or business? Then follow up and send the owners/managers of that business a copy of your printed letter in the paper. These business owners would probably rather deal with a person who understands the issues of their business than someone who shows no interest in their business. This is just one of Dr. Stanley's methods. In this book, you will ! find a method just right for your personality to increase your business. While you are at it, purchase his other books on Marketing and Selling to the Affluent.

This volumes brings the Arrancar Arc to an end. With Aizen's metamorphosis complete and his advance on Ichigo's friends and home, Ichigo will need to come back with the Final Getsuga Tensho if he hopes to defeat Aizen. There are sacrifices that are life-changing, changes in loyalty, and tearful goodbyes in this conclusion to the Arrancar Arc.

I was really surprised by Gin Ichimaru. Who would have thought he'd turn his sword against Aizen? "I'm a snake. My skin is cold. I have no heart. I slither looking for prey with the tip of my tongue. I swallow the people I care about whole. That's the kind of creature I am." In some ways Gin is like a snake, but the reason why Gin sided with Aizen revealed a very noble motive. Rangiku was at the heart of Gin's motivation to side with Aizen to eventually kill him. He became a Soul Reaper to change things so that Rangiku wouldn't have to cry anymore. I never thought that I would like Gin, but in the moment that Rangiku finds him dying and is crying over him, I couldn't help but like him. This is tearful goodbye number one.

The battle between Ichigo and Aizen was pretty awesome, though Aizen was really annoying with all his holier-than-thou talk. Ichigo's just standing there like he just wants Aizen to shut it and start fighting. Ichigo's new power is really amazing and the Final Getsuga Tensho is just... I can't even say how cool it is. He literally becomes Getsuga.

Tearful goodbye number two comes during a flashback of his battle with Zangetsu. "Do you remember what I said when this fight began? That what you wanted to protect wasn't what I wanted to protect? What I wanted to protect was you, Ichigo." If Ichigo uses the Final Getsuga Tensho, he loses his Soul Reaper powers. Seeing Zangetsu cry was a powerful moment.

This is totally unrelated to Ichigo's battle with Aizen or his farewell with Zangetsu, but am I the only one who thinks the longer hairstyle really works for Ichigo? I don't know, it seems more warrior-like.

The whole ordeal with Aizen has made a lot of the Soul Reapers realize their weaknesses. Some are training, while others try to move on.

Ichigo was asleep for about a month after the battle with Aizen and losing his powers. The third goodbye isn't tearful, but it's definitely more final. This one is between Ichigo and Rukia. "Goodbye, Rukia. Thank you." They have had to say goodbye to each other before, but like I mentioned, with Ichigo having lost his powers, he won't be able to see her anymore, and that makes this goodbye harder than the first.

Now that Ichigo's more or less normal now that he doesn't have his powers, we find out in the next volume, the beginning of The Lost Agent Arc, what he's willing to do to get them back when one of his friends is attacked and seriously wounded.

good end to arc

The Arrancar arc seemed to drag on and on, and just got boring after a while. The individual volumes had very little re-read value. It didn't get interesting again until Gin and Aizen actually got involved in the fighting. This part of the story was very interesting and the fights were well done. The resolution and aftermath involving Ichigo and Rukia, I thought was very poignant as well. However, when Aizen makes his typical "villain reveals all" speeches, the "revelations" delivered to Ichigo seemed very contrived and poorly set up. To me that's just sloppy writing.

In my opinion the Bleach manga could and should have ended for good right here. The fact that it continues after that, I believe, has more to do with Kubo and his editors' desire to keep the series going and keep making money, than any real artistic vision on Kubo's part.

The best post-structuralism eclectic book on socio-systems theories

Traditional social theories are limited. They do not give us a clear explanation of the causes of contemporary problems. Our problems are rooted in many sources: hyper-industrial capitalism focused on expanding the bottom line through controlling government; huge public and private bureaucracies grown beyond democratic understanding or control; a national security state that far exceeds the fears of people; growing inequality within and between socio cultural systems. Our reality is unprecedented in human history: it is an era of revolutionary change—cybernetic, biological, cultural, social, demographic, industrial, political, and environmental—while our social theories are rooted in the past. The old theories are inadequate to the task of explaining how the current global social problems are interrelated and intensifying. Without a clear framework for understanding how various components of socio cultural systems are structured and why social change is growing and our problems threaten to overwhelm us.
I studied Karl Marx’s theoretical corpus at the University of Havana, and I taught Political Economics for ten years in Latin American universities. So, I am very familiar with Marxian philosophy, sociology, and economics. I also must declare my limitations about the particularities of Spencer, Durkheim and Weber’s social theories. With my expertise and theoretical limitations I read Elwell’s Sociocultural Systems: Principles of Structure and Change. The majority of Anglo scholars never read and studied Marx’s books. Everyone mentioned Capital: A Critique of Political Economy, but they rarely analyzed the original writing, quoted the original text, or taught using Karl Marx as a source. With some exceptions, most interpretations were erroneous, and once these interpretations got into the secondary literature, they became “facts.” Elwell broke with that tradition with regard to Marx, and I suspect with the other classical theorists he deals with as well. His comparative analysis and argumentations are based on the original works of the authors who are the objects of his research. For example, Elwell quoted and discussed, among other books of Marx, the two most important works on sociology and political economic theories, respectively: (1) A Contribution to the Critique of Political Economy, and (2) Capital: A Critique of Political Economy. Vol. 1. .
The other great merit of Elwell’s book is the analytical and critical synthesis of very different theoretical traditions (e.g., the philosophical foundations of Marx and Weber are not only different, but they are in open opposition in many respects). That synthesis was possible because Elwell elaborated a common vocabulary of sociological concepts to discuss very dissimilar authors, theories and concepts. I strongly recommend the book to those who wish to study, in a rigorous manner, the origin, maintenance, and change of socio-economic systems. I highly recommend Elwel’s book to social science libraries, public and private universities, as well as scholars and students. Serious readers of sociology can benefit from its elegant style, conciseness, clarity, and logical sequence of concepts in explaining complex sociocultural systems.

I never realized that there where so many things to consider when deciding to go on on-line dating sites. I never gave it a thought about how much of my information is on the internet. There is a lot of great advice about being yourself and being careful when dating on-line.Don't be afraid to be yourself and let the other person see the real you. I received this as a promo, but the review is 100% mine. I have been married for 33 yrs and if I had to start over again this would really help me.

Just what the modern single needs

Considering we live in a time where any and all information is at our fingertips at all times as soon as we want it, King has successfully written an online dating advice book that absolutely caters to that idea. We all know of the clunky, repetitive and jargon-filled self-help books of days past. Who has time for those anymore? King respectfully breaks down hypocrisies and doubts about online dating, and quickly yet still thoroughly explains the importance of attitude, expectation and properly presenting one’s self in this modern mate-finding setting.

His balance of humor and sensible advice are truly refreshing. It’s a relief to read a thoughtful advice book without having to reference an index or dictionary every page. This is exactly what the modern single needs to read to not only enrich their online dating profiles and increase their chances, but to improve their attitude toward what has long-been a falsely blacklisted way of finding a partner – and fast.

I found this book to be very informative. The author provided lots of advice and tips to help someone to to be able to succeed in the world of online dating. I never would have realized before reading this book that there were so many do's and don't from communicating with someone to something as simple as setting up your profile and picking a picture. I have been married 9 years and can say that after reading this book I can now help my friends who are considering online dating be able to make the best of it as well as to refer them to this book. Fixed income volatility and equity volatility evolve heterogeneously over time, co-moving disproportionately during periods of global imbalances and each reacting to events of different nature. While the methodology for options-based "model-free" pricing of equity volatility has been known for some time, little is known about analogous methodologies for pricing various fixed income volatilities.

This book fills this gap and provides a unified evaluation framework of fixed income volatility while dealing with disparate markets such as interest-rate swaps, government bonds, time-deposits and credit. It develops model-free, forward looking indexes of fixed-income volatility that match different quoting conventions across various markets, and uncovers subtle yet important pitfalls arising from naïve superimpositions of the standard equity volatility methodology when pricing various fixed income volatilities.

The ultimate goal of the authors´ efforts is to make interest rate volatility standardization a valuable channel of information, helping design signal generation and trading strategies, or, to mention another example, informing policy makers about how decisions and communication affect ongoing developments in fixed income volatility. More generally, this work will help inform the public about how uncertainty is perceived by key players in one of the most important segments in the whole capital market.

About the Author

Antonio Mele holds a Senior Chair at the Swiss Finance Institute, and is a full Professor of Finance at the University of Lugano, after having been a tenured faculty at the London School of Economics & Political Science for a decade. He is also a Research Fellow for the Financial Economics program at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Paris.

His academic expertise spans a variety of fields in financial economics, pertaining to capital market volatility, interest rates and credit markets, macro-finance, capital markets and business cycles, and information in securities markets. His research has been published by top journals in Finance and Economics such as the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Economic Studies, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Monetary Economics.

His work outside academia includes developing fixed income volatility indexes for Chicago Board Options Exchange. He is the co-inventor of the CBOE Interest Rate Swap Volatility Index (CBOE-SRVX℠) - the first standardized volatility measure in the interest-rate swap market, designed to standardize and simplify swap-rate volatility trading much in the spirit of the CBOE-VIX® index in the equity market.

Yoshiki Obayashi is a managing director at Applied Academics LLC in New York, specialized in developing and commercializing ideas emanating from a growing think-tank of academic researchers selected for their work's relevance to practice in the finance industry. His most recent projects range from running systematic trading strategies for funds to developing fixed income volatility indexes for Chicago Board Options Exchange.

Yoshiki Obayashi previously managed US and Asian credit portfolios for a proprietary fixed-income trading group at an investment bank. He holds a PhD in Finance and Economics from Columbia Business School.
